Training

Our professional staff follows an interactive, inclusive approach to obedience training with a focus on positive reinforcement and an individualized assessment of your dog's abilities. We don't just simply take your dogs in, train them, and send them home, but we believe pet parents should be involved in every step of the learning process as well. This helps to foster a consistent routine and strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Our trainers have completed extensive schooling, several hours of volunteer work, externships, and a final exam to become certified. Through group or one-on-one sessions, they can help you acquire the necessary skills to meet your dog's needs:

Puppy Class: 4 Classes Per Dog $120

  • In this course, puppies will learn socialization, recall, sit, stand, walking on a leash without pulling, and much more.

Basic Obedience: 7-8 Classes Per Dog $190

  • In this class, we teach all the basics you need to know to start training your dog to be a well-mannered canine citizen. We will cover the name game, lure-and-reward, focus, sit, stand, down, drop it, how to prevent and stop bad behaviors, socialization, nutrition, exercise, house manners, crate and potty training, and more.

Advanced Obedience: 7 Classes Per Dog $190

  • Have you and your dog already mastered the skills in our basic class? Join us for our advanced class to continue pursuing the training to good canine citizenship. In this course, we will review skills developed in Basic Obedience as well as go over off-leash training, training with distractions, commands with distance, keeping commands over time, etc.

Trick Class: 4 Classes Per Dog $100

  • Looking for a fun class to teach your dog how to show off for your friends? Come to our trick training class where the goal is to relax and have a good time with your furry best friend, while learning something new at the same time.

Canine Good Citizenship Readiness Class: 6 Classes Per Dog $190

  • In this class, we will review lessons from Basic and Advanced Obedience courses and continue to prepare your dog for the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizenship certification test. We will discuss the 10-step criteria for passing the CGC test such as walking through a crowd, greeting a friendly stranger, reaction to distractions, behaving politely around other dogs, etc.

Two Private One-on-one Lessons: $190 Per Hour Per Dog (At Your Home)

Class Requirements

Doggies of all experience levels are welcome to join our obedience classes! Before entering the actual training class, pet parents must first attend an orientation class in order to go over a list of things to bring for your dog, what to wear, safety rules, etc. We ask that all pet parents please bring a 6ft. lead (no retractable leashes) with a regular collar (no choke collars), and we recommend bringing at least 100 pea-sized treats to class. All dogs must be at least 4 months old (except for puppy class where they must be 10-16 weeks old), up to date on Rabies, Bordetella, and Parvo/Distemper vaccinations, and on a flea preventative. For more information about our classes, please contact us today.

*All classes require at least four dogs to sign up. Cancellations are possible due to lack of interest.

Refund Policy

Payment is due at enrollment to reserve a spot in any of our training classes. Deposits and/or payments for group or private sessions are non-refundable. We ask that everyone please carefully consider your schedule and dedication to training before signing up for a class. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

NEW CLIENT FORMS

"Our babies were loved, spoiled, and especially well cared for at Learn, Play, Stay Doggie Resort. Donna is the best and the staff are great as well. We will have them care for our six pups again whenever we go out of town. The facilities are excellent and we really loved that each of our six pups had their own room."
