We offer boarding, doggie daycare, group and individual training, and full-service dog grooming for pet owners in the Rustburg, VA area. Our Story
Donna Patterson opened Learn Play Stay Doggie Resort after raising her Yellow Lab Zolofft as a therapy dog. During that time, she realized how she could make more of an impact in the lives of dogs and became inspired to acquire her dog training certification from the Animal Behavioral College. In order to do so, she had to undergo extensive training, volunteer 15-20 hours at a shelter for training, and complete externships at St. Francis Service Dogs and Field of Dreams in Roanoke, VA.

Starting off small, Donna initially taught training classes and cared for dogs from home. While working at home, Donna began to notice a need for a multi-faceted doggie resort catering to the Lynchburg and Campbell County, VA areas. Plans were then set in motion to create Learn Play Stay Doggie Resort. Having also worked as a registered nurse, Donna's compassionate nature and knowledge of administering medications gave her the extra drive to move forward with this new vision.
In the Fall of 2014, Donna was finally able to witness her dreams come to pass when she established Learn Play Stay Doggie Resort at our location in Rustburg, VA.
